The year's first
Orcas were the cause of some excited dashing around the island in the afternoon, although the pod of at least 6 animals could not be relocated after the intitial sighting. There was still little change in the migrant birds, but a flock of 10
Snow Buntings flew over the island in the morning, a
Hen Harrier and a
Sparrowhawk were both new and 3
Merlins were seen. A
Grey Plover was also new, and the number of
Golden Plovers reached more than 400 birds.
